| Match the truck outrigger force with load capacity of the soil and outrigger pad combination. For example, a concrete pump truck with 50,000 lb outriggers on mixed granular soil will need to have an outrigger pad larger than 30x30. |

| The next step is to verify that the load capacity of the outrigger pad is not exceeded. It is recommended that the area of the steel outrigger foot is at least 1/3 the area of the Summit outrigger pad. |
